The 5^th annual Houston Bobcat Club Leadership Council Golf Tournament took place this past Friday, March 8^th at BlackHorse Golf Club in Cypress, TX. This year's tournament set a new record with just under $20,000 raised towards student-athlete scholarships and 21 teams participating. This has developed into the second largest annual Bobcat Club fundraiser, following Bobcat Bonanza.
 
The event started with brunch and a silent auction in the BlackHorse clubhouse followed by a shotgun start at 12:00 PM. The winning team in this year's scramble was Tyler Barnes, Andrew Luchak, Samantha Hilton and Guy Goodspeed. Tyler Barnes, former TXST Men's Golfer, was a big winner also taking home the prize for Closest to the Pin and winning the top silent auction item – a black matte TXST Football helmet.

After the tournament, we closed out the afternoon with BBQ and drinks back in the clubhouse where awards and gifts were given out.

This event began five years ago through the efforts of our Houston area Bobcat Club Leadership Council members and has continued to grow each year because of their hard work. A special thank you goes out to Matt & Jodi Edgar, Josh Flowers and Michael Muhs for all the work they've put into this annual event and for their continued support of Texas State University.
