SAN MARCOS - In an effort to improve the overall game day experience for donors, season ticket holders, and single game ticket buyers, Texas State Athletics will be implementing tailgating, traffic and parking changes at Bobcat Stadium for the 2019 football season.
Key Changes for 2019:
- Parking on the east side of Bobcat Stadium is reserved for the newly created Tailgate Central.
- Donor Lot 4 has been relocated to the Strahan Coliseum lot.
- Creation of a general public parking located in Lot 5 and the UEC lot.
Lot 4 Need to Know:
With the creation of Tailgate Central on the east side of Bobcat Stadium, all donors with a Lot 4 pass will have access to park in Lot 4 located in the Strahan Coliseum. Bobcat Club donors will have two options available to access Lot 4. Pass holders can access Lot 4 via Post Road or must come east on Aquarena Springs Drive. The Bobcat Club will also offer a golf cart shuttle service that will run pre and post-game with stops in Lots 1-4, the Pavilion, and Tailgate Central.
Furthermore, if any Bobcat Club members wanted to host their own grass tailgate, fans will be allowed to set up on the grass in either Aquarena Springs Field off Springs Drive or on the University Events Center Field. These options are extremely close and allow Bobcat Club donors the ability to set up tents, tables, and chairs and enjoy their donor parking lot game festivities.
Tailgate Central Need to Know:
At the recommendation of the game day task force, Texas State Athletics designated the east parking lot between Bobcat Stadium and the track & field complex as Tailgate Central. This area is reserved for alumni, fans, students, and donors to enjoy a great game day tailgate atmosphere. Here you can find tailgates by the "T" Association, student organizations, Greek community, and Alumni Association. Additionally, this lot will feature options for Bobcat Club donors to park. The Bobcat Club will have a select number of reserved spaces available for use on a season basis. There is also a secondary Bobcat Club RV lot available too. Finally, the highlight of tailgating in this lot will give tailgaters a front row seat to witness the Cat Walk and Bobcat Charge featuring the Bobcat Football Team, Strutters, Cheerleaders, and Bobcat Marching Band. Access to this lot will only be available through Robbie Lane.
For Bobcat Club members interested in utilizing this option, parking spots will be offered for the full season. Bobcat Club donors at the Bronze level can exchange their season Lot 4 pass for a season Tailgate Central pass. This pass entitles the holder to 1 parking spot, which they can access to set up their tailgate beginning at noon the day before every home game or 6 hours prior to kick-off on game day. Any Bronze Level Bobcat Club donor interested in exchanging their season pass must contact the Bobcat Club no later than close of business Friday, August 16th. Due to the limited number of spaces reserved, Tailgate Central will only be available on a priority request basis for Bobcat Club donors.
Lot 5 Need to Know:
This year the Texas State Athletics department will offer additional parking options to the general public and non-parking pass receiving members. Space will be available on gameday for $10 cash in the southeast end of the Strahan Coliseum Lot. Parking will be offered on a first come basis until capacity has been reached. For any fans interested in tailgating, the UEC lot is within close proximity and available for all parked in Lot 5 to use for tailgate setup. Entry into this lot will only be allowed via Aquarena Springs Drive.

Why was Lot 4 changed from the East side of Bobcat Stadium to the Strahan Coliseum Lot?
After the 2018 football season, President Trauth commissioned a game day task force with the goal of creating a shared experience for students, donors, and alumni that attend the game. One of the many recommendations they came up with was the creation of Tailgate Central. Texas State Athletics and the task force are very excited to create a centralize hub for all tailgaters to use and be located closely together.
I have a Lot 4 parking pass, where do I go to park now?
Donors with a Lot 4 pass are still eligible to park in our Bobcat Club Donor parking lot. Lot 4 will now be relocated in the Strahan Coliseum Lot. All Bobcat Club members will be required to enter this lot either through Aquarena Drive or Post Road.
Bobcat Club donors will be allowed to trade in their Lot 4 season pass for a Tailgate Central pass instead. Passes are available on a season basis and based off limited supply will be available via a priority request basis. Any donor interested in exchanging their parking pass will need to contact the Bobcat Club prior to season tickets and parking getting mailed on August 14th.
How long of a walk is it from Lot 4 to Bobcat Stadium?
From the furthest edge of Lot 4 to the entrance to Bobcat Stadium is approximately a tenth of a mile. This walk should take 10 minutes on average.
Are there shuttle options available?
All Bobcat Club members are eligible to use our complimentary golf cart shuttle service. This shuttle will run a continuously loop with stops in Lots 1-4, the Pavilion, and Tailgate Central. Shuttles will run approximately every 15 minutes.
Is tailgating allowed in Bobcat Club Donor Lot 4 and Lot 5?
Tailgating is encouraged in Lot 4 and 5, as well as our donors have the options to go to Tailgate Central, Aquarena Springs Field, or University Events Center Field. I have a parking pass left for me a Will Call, where do I go to pick it up on game day?
On game day, the Bobcat Club will have a Will Call set up on Robbie Lane to handle all parking Will Call orders. Any Bobcat Club member who has a parking pass held at Will Call will have to report to the Bobcat Club Will Call on Robbie Lane off Thorpe Lane. Parking passes will only be available for pickup at the Bobcat Club Will Call. Any ticket issues will have to be addressed with the Ticket Office Will Call at Bobcat Stadium.
