"It means the world. Coming in as a walk-on and being put on scholarship by Coach Withers was the best feeling. Getting to call home and tell my parents they no longer had to provide my college payments was so gratifying."

"I am able to continue my softball career because of earning a scholarship. I would not be where I am today without this scholarship. It has brought so many opportunities and great people into my life. I probably would have not received this opportunity if I didn't have a scholarship and for that, I will forever be grateful."

"My scholarship means a lot to me. It gave me the opportunity to study and play my favorite sport at the same time. Moreover, it allows me to study in the United States, to learn a new culture and a new language. I am so thankful to be part of a team with teammates from all over the world. I am thankful to be a student-athlete, and to have access to a lot of amenities (gym, practice area etc.). My scholarship impacts my entire life. I would like to play professional golf and having a scholarship to be on the team is so good for my future. Without my scholarship, I do not think I could be here. Being a Bobcat has created so many unforgettable memories for me. I am very happy to be here!"

It is a reward due to all of the years that I've spent both playing and training so hard on and off the court. "A scholarship means opportunity to me. After my father's passing, I did not want my mother to have sole responsibility in paying my college tuition. I wanted to find a way to take a load off her shoulders and this scholarship means that I will be able to help my family out. It is also an opportunity for me to experience a different culture. I am thankful to be able to pursue a sport that is not as recognized in my home country. The support that is given to golf in the United States is tremendous and I'm grateful for being given the chance to be part of this community. This scholarship has allowed me to meet new people from all over the world and be part of their journey as well. I am continuously grateful for those who are helping me achieve my dream."

"They say it only takes one Bobcat to make a difference, and for me that Bobcat was Coach Chisum giving me an opportunity of a lifetime. I will never forget the humbling moment I shared with my coach when she gave me the news about earning a scholarship. It's one thing to play the game that you love, but another to obtain a paid education as well. Finding out I would be on scholarship gave me motivation and drive to do the best I can on the court and in the classroom. "This scholarship has impacted not just me but my family as well. My parents are always there for me and help me anyway they can, and they would be paying for my education if it wasn't for this scholarship. They now can travel to our tournaments to watch me compete. I am very blessed and lucky to leave school without any debt. I plan to go pro and not having to make payments on any loans makes it that much easier to make and spend my future money wisely."

It also helps lighten the burden on my family, as my parents have four kids in college all at the same time!"

"There is no doubt that being an athlete at Texas State is an incomparable experience. Living a new adventure sometimes scares you out of your comfort zone, but traveling and breaking the routine allows you to discover new horizons. Texas State has changed my life. Living outside of your country teaches you to adapt to a new way of life, a new language, and a new culture."
